Guinn's Pass

Headed down to Kananaskis Country again this week and did the hike up to Guinn's Pass. At the trailhead was a cool suspension bridge (for those of you into gay cowboys it featured in the movie Brokeback Mountain). The hike then followed an enchanted little waterway called Galatea Creek for about 5km before it branched off and climbed up to the pass. Despite a hard slog up an avalanche gully the view from the top down into the basin was great.
The pass was named after a bloke called Guinn who dragged his pack-laden horses down the side of the mountain and then realised the next day there was an easier way to get through.
