First Grizzly sighting
It is time for M to commandeer the blog and tell you about our first grizzly sighting. We were travelling down the Bow Valley Parkway to reach Banff when we decided to pull over for a quick brew (of tea). We looked over the embankment and there she was - ambling along the train tracks eating new grain shoots and turning over stones for yummy ants. She didn't appear to see us and kept walking along searching for tucker while having a bit of a sniff about. At the closest she was about 100m away so we got a good chance to check her out. We didn't think she had spotted us but when we told a Parks Canada ranger about our sighting he said in a Fargoesque way - O yaaarr she knew you were there alright. It has been the highlight of our trip to date and we will post some photos of the beauty soon.
